Bespoke Social Skills Group for Older Teenagers

Authentic Inclusions’ social skills group is designed for older teenagers and young adults who want to strengthen their ability to form and maintain friendships in a supportive, home-like environment. This 12-week program brings together small groups (maximum of five participants) who share similar interests and communication styles, allowing them to explore the nuanced skills of friendship.

Program Overview
Week 1 – Individual Session: Getting to know you, setting goals, and understanding what makes a great friendship.
Weeks 2-11 – Group Sessions:

Practicing conversational skills, turn-taking, and active listening.

Understanding humour, teasing, and boundaries.

Navigating different perspectives and handling disagreements.

Planning social activities and outings.

Learning how to maintain friendships outside the group.
Week 12 – Individual Session & Celebration: Reflecting on growth, consolidating skills, and celebrating achievements with the group.

This program is tailored to the needs of each participant, with activities chosen based on group comfort and interest. Participants will learn in a relaxed and enjoyable setting, where they can practice real-life social interactions with peers.
